Nickel alloys are among the most popular contemporary alloys and are commonly used for their high resistances to corrosion, heat, pressure and warping.

ASTM A135 ERW steel pipe, whether grade A or B, is usually manufactured using a high-frequency resistance welding process. Welds of ERW pipe conforming to ASTM A135 Class B shall be heat treated after welding to a minimum temperature of 1000°F [540°C].

ASTM A334 is a standard specification that covers several grades of seamless and welded carbon and alloy-steel tubes intended for low-temperature service. The grades include Gr1, Gr3, and Gr6.
