ASTM A179 Cold Drawn Seamless Tube
ASTM SA 179 seamless pipe is formulated according to ASTM standards and has similar grades and standards to ASTM A179/A179M.
ASTM A333Gr.6 steel pipe chemical composition:
Carbon: ≤0.30, Silicon: ≥0.10, Manganese: 0.29~1.06, Phosphorus: ≤0.025, Sulfur: ≤0.025, Chromium: ≤0.030, Nickel: ≤0.040, Molybdenum: ≤0.12, Copper: ≤0.40, Vanadium: ≤0.08, Niobium; ≤0.02.
Based on agreement, the niobium content may be increased to 0.05% for heat analysis and 0.06% for finished product analysis.
Mechanical properties of ASTM A333 Gr.6 Carbon Steel Seamless Pipes:
Tensile strength: minimum 415 MPa,
Yield strength: minimum 240 MPa,
Elongation: minimum 30%,
Commonly used: Impact test temperature -45℃,
The above requirements can ensure the normal use of the pipeline in low temperature environment, with sufficient strength and toughness.
Product specifications: outer diameter 21.3mm~762mm, wall thickness 2.0mm~140mm
Heat treatment requirements for SA 333 GR 6 tube:
1. Normalizing above 815°C.
2. Normalizing above 815°C, then tempering.
3. Hot forming between 845-945°C, then furnace cooling above 845°C (applicable only to seamless tubes).
4. Tempering after processing.
5. Quenching above 815°C, then tempering.
