ASME SA-556M Grade C2 seamless pipe is a high-temperature seamless steel pipe produced in accordance with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) standard SA-556M. Grade C2 indicates that the steel pipe is suitable for high-temperature service under moderate pressure.
ASME SA-556M C2 seamless cold drawn tubing is used in tubular feed water heaters to preheat water before it enters the boiler to produce steam. SA-556M C2 is pearlescent carbon steel used for tubular water heaters in the ASME SA-556m standard. It is divided into straight tubes and tubes that need to be bent into a "U" shape.
This specification is similar to ASTM A556/A556M and also covers seamless cold-drawn carbon steel tubing for use in tubular feedwater heaters, including bending into U-shaped tubing if specified.
