ASTM A192 seamless steel pipe is a low carbon alloy steel with excellent strength and corrosion resistance. The following are the chemical composition and mechanical properties of ASTM A192 seamless steel pipe:
Chemical composition: Carbon (C): 0.6-0.18%, Silicon (Si): ≤0.25%, Manganese (Mn): 0.35-0.65%, Phosphorus (P): ≤0.025%, Sulfur (S): ≤0.020%, Mechanical properties: tensile strength (MPa): ≥325, yield strength (MPa): ≥180, elongation (%): ≥35, impact energy (J): ≥27.
According to the ASTM A192 standard, seamless carbon steel boiler tubes should be manufactured using seamless processes such as hot rolling or cold drawing. For heat-treated pipes, no additional heat treatment is required after heat treatment. For cold finished tubes, cold finishing requires heat treatment at 1200°F (650°C) or higher for optimal mechanical properties and corrosion resistance.
192 Grade A steel pipe is suitable for boiler and heat exchanger applications at high temperatures (approximately 450°C or higher) and high pressures. They maintain stable performance under harsh working conditions.
Mechanical properties: This grade of steel pipe usually has appropriate mechanical properties and can withstand the loads and pressures in high temperature and high pressure environments.
