Comparison between EN 10216-1 and EN 10216-2
EN 10216-1 and EN 10216-2 are European standards for the technical delivery conditions of seamless steel pipes for pressure purposes. The following are the main differences and features of the two standards:
Scope of application:
EN 10216-1: specifies the technical requirements for non-alloy seamless steel pipes, mainly used for the manufacture of boiler water pipes, smoke pipes, superheater pipes and air preheater pipes.
EN 10216-2: Applicable to non-alloy and alloy seamless steel pipes with specified high temperature performance, and clarifies the technical delivery conditions for such steel pipes used in high temperature environments.
Technical requirements:
EN 10216-1: includes requirements for the manufacturing method, classification, standards and certification of steel pipes, as well as specific provisions for the size and shape, material and chemical composition, technical requirements, quality control, marking and labeling, packaging, transportation and storage, ordering and delivery of steel pipes.
EN 10216-2: Special emphasis is placed on the performance and requirements of steel pipes in high temperature environments, and requirements for heat treatment, non-destructive testing, etc. are added.
Materials:
EN 10216-1: Mainly for non-alloy steel pipes, providing materials with specific room temperature properties.
EN 10216-2: Includes non-alloy and alloy steel pipes, providing materials with specific high temperature properties.
