L80 grade steel pipe is an intermediate grade steel pipe with moderate levels of elements including 9% chromium to provide high strength and suitable for high temperature and high pressure systems. API 5CT grade L80 casing is a controlled yield strength material with hardness testing requirements and is commonly used in wells in sour (hydrogen sulfide) environments. Casing sizes range from 114.3mm (4.5 inches) to 406.4mm (16 inches) and tubing sizes range from 26.7mm (1.05 inches) to 114.3mm (4.5 inches). L80 is a corrosion resistant casing steel grade. API grade L80 pipes include L80-1, L80-9Cr and L80-13Cr. L80-1 pipes are used in H2S environments, while L80-9Cr and L80-13Cr are used in CO2 environments.
